⚠️ CRITICAL ADMISSION ALERT: No Branch Change

Policy Status for 2026:

NIT Andhra Pradesh has ABOLISHED the Branch Change option.

The official policy states: “Branch change option has been removed… change of branch after admission is not possible.”

  • The Reality: The branch you choose in JoSAA/CSAB is frozen. You cannot join Biotechnology or Metallurgy with the hope of upgrading to CSE or ECE after the first year.
  • Strategy: Be very specific with your choice filling. If you are tech-focused, ensure you secure a circuit branch (CSE/ECE/EEE) directly during counseling.

🎓 B.Tech Branches (Seat Matrix)

Admission is via JoSAA/CSAB. The institute reserves 50% seats for Andhra Pradesh Home State candidates and 50% for Other States.

💡 Guruvel Verdict

“NIT Andhra Pradesh is the best ‘New NIT’ in terms of infrastructure and connectivity. Having its own permanent campus so quickly is a massive advantage over NITs like Nagaland or Mizoram. The placement stats are healthy (Avg ~₹7.5 LPA), but the removal of Branch Change is a strict filter—only join if you are happy with your allotted branch. For AP students, it’s a fantastic home-state option.”
