Policy Status for 2026:
NIT Mizoram ALLOWS branch change after the 1st Year.
- Criteria:
- CGPA ≥ 8.0 at the end of the 2nd Semester.
- Must clear all 1st-year credits in the first attempt.
- The “Top 1%” Rule: If you are among the Top 1% of the batch based on CGPA, you can switch to any branch of your choice without seat constraints.
- Others: For the rest, branch change is subject to merit and seat availability (max 10% increase in target branch).
