MNIT Jaipur is one of the oldest and most prestigious NITs in India. Located on the Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, it sits on a massive 317-acre lush green campus in the heart of the “Pink City,” Jaipur.
- Connectivity: Being in a state capital, it offers excellent air, rail, and road connectivity, unlike many remote NITs.
- Status: It is fully funded by the Ministry of Education and is an “Institute of National Importance.”

This is the most important factor for your counseling strategy.
Unlike most other NITs, MNIT Jaipur does NOT allow branch changes after the first year.
- What this means: The branch you freeze in JoSAA/CSAB is the branch you will study for 4 years. Do not take a lower branch here hoping to upgrade to CSE or ECE later. It is impossible.

“MNIT Jaipur is a Tier-1 NIT with a location advantage that few others can match. The placement stats for CSE and AI are stellar (avg ~18 LPA+). However, the ‘No Branch Change’ policy is a deal-breaker for risk-takers. Only choose MNIT if you are 100% happy with the branch you are getting.”
